NEA Resources and Programs

NEA Tools and Ideas– NEA has some valuable resources for members. Their Tools and Ideas program includes lesson plans, help with classroom management, identification of best teaching practices, instructional tools on the web and in print, and a place to share and discuss.

NEA’s Works4me: Sign up to receive weekly instructional email with tips and resources.

NEA’s Read Across America an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. NEA’s Read Across America also provides NEA members, parents, caregivers, and children the resources and activities they need to keep reading on the calendar 365 days a year.

National Board Certification

National Board Certification is a renewable, advanced teaching credential good for 10 years. It complements, but does not replace a Colorado teacher license and is designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards. You can earn the certification after successful completion of a voluntary assessment program. For more information download the National Board Certification flyer.

National Board In APS,

Article 11, Section 6 of the Master Agreement:

Upon verification to the District, a one-time stipend of $2,300 shall be paid to any teacher who holds National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certification or upon the attainment of such certification. The stipend shall also be paid upon a teacher being re-certified for National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. In addition, teachers holding National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certification shall be paid $1,000 annually in each year they maintain such certification.
